    University of Calcutta, informally known as Calcutta University or CU, is a public state university located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It was established in 1857 and is recognized by the UGC and AICTE. It is also graded ‘A++’ by NAAC. University of Calcutta Ranking by NIRF was 26 out of 200 colleges in 2024.

    University of Calcutta offers MSc as a popular course. To be eligible for admission, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in a BSc in a relevant discipline from a recognized university. The final selection will be based on merit in graduation. The total course fee for MSc is INR 16,338.

    University of Calcutta Placement 2025 has not been released yet. According to the NIRF 2025 report, the University of Calcutta Placement 2024 concluded with 2082 students getting placed at the UG and PG levels. The median salary for UG courses ranges from INR 7-10 LPA; for PG courses, the range is from INR 8-11 LPA. Some recruiters were CESC, TCS, Cognizant, Linde India, L&T Infotech, Genpact, etc.
